Scale Remote Calibration

All scales are calibrated in our factory before they are shipped to their respective destinations.  However, several factors may affect the scales' precision and accuracy.  These include:

  • environmental factors like difference in gravity between two places and changes in temperature

  • human factors like overloading, miscalibration, and mishandling during shipment or scale usage

In such cases, we recommend your scale for a recalibration.

Calibration is made easier with the new feature of several Elane postal scales - Remote Calibration! This feature allows you to calibrate your scale using the Remote Calibration Program* either by adjusting your local gravity value or using a standard weight from which you can specify your own or you can choose from our list of standard objects.

Features of Scale Remote Calibration:

  • More accurate scale calibration using the gravity factor of your exact location - Since gravity affects weight (scales read WEIGHT of an object, not MASS), scale reading varies in places where gravity values are different from the one that was set in our factory. Scales can be programmed to adapt with this gravity change, giving the scale exact weight reading according to your current geographical location.  Also, we have provided gravity values for major cities and locations for your convenience.

  • Required "standard weights" for scale calibration are easier to find - We made it easier for you to calibrate your scale by using weights that are readily available like several cans of Coca-Cola or any standard object that meets the weight requirement for remote calibration. The latter option requires that you know the exact weight of the object.

  • Remote Calibration Program - Along with the remote calibration feature of Elane postal scales, we also designed an application program that will guide you step-by-step to perform remote calibration on your scale. This is truly a 100% user-and-scale-friendly calibration!

Requirements for Scale Remote Calibration:

  • Remote Calibration Program - The application program that will help you perform remote calibration of your scale.  You can download it from here.

  • Remote Calibration Code - The code that is given after your payment for remote calibration service. This is important to continue with the remote calibration process. Validity of this code is 48 hours after its first use.

  • Standard Weight (if you choose calibration using standard weights) - A standard weight that is readily available from the market or you may choose from our predefined list of objects that you can use for remote calibration. You may also use your own object provided that you know its exact weight and it meets the weight requirements for your remote calibration. Click here to view the list of weight requirements for remote calibration.

  • Local Gravity Factor (if you choose calibration by adjusting gravity factor) - We have listed major cities and locations that you can choose from. For more accurate results, you can consult your metrological station for your local gravity factor.

  • Scale - Your Exceed scale or postal scale that is capable of remote calibration. Click here to view the list of all remote calibration-capable scales.

*Remote Calibration Program can only be installed and run on Windows-based computers.
