1.  What is Exceed W Scale?

Exceed W Scales are the latest and specialized digital weighing scales from Elane. These scales offer a wide range of important functions and special features which cannot be found in other weighing scales. They are available in the following models: 500g/0.01g, 500g/0.1g, 5kg/0.1g, and 10kg/1g.

2.  What are the special features of this scale?

Exceed W models include two important functions: COUNT function and BATCH function. Count function allows you to count items that are on the scale's platform by sampling some items first. Batch function is important when packing items or products that should meet a standard weight specification. A weight value is programmed and this will be used as a reference for batch weighing. Another feature of this weighing scale is the capacity to display weight in different units (grams, lbs, ounces, etc.) which is very handy when you need to convert weight into other units. Last but not the least feature is the capacity of Exceed W Scale to be updated online (refer to succeeding questions for more details).

3.  What is online software update for Exceed W Scales?

Exceed W Scales are constantly being improved by Elane - in terms of software and its functions and users will benefit from these updates. In cases where Elane issues software updates (for software improvements or software corrections), it is very easy to keep your Exceed W Scale updated, too. You can just download Exceed W PC Program*** for FREE and use it to update your scale. You also need to register your scale in order to avail of the free software update.

4.  What is Exceed W PC Program?

The Exceed PC Program is a software application that will let you update your scale with its latest software depending on your scale model (which you specified during scale registration) and the software type that you selected. This software will also inform you of the latest update available for your Exceed W scale. Download and install this program on your computer. You can download Exceed W PC Program for FREE!

5. How do I use this Exceed W PC Program to update my scale's software?

Exceed W Scale can be connected to the computer and will communicate with the Exceed W PC Program during software update. You need to have the INTERFACE CABLE for your Exceed W Scale to connect it to your computer. This interface cable is sold separately from the Exceed W scale. To purchase this product, click here.

6. What are Zero Tracking and No Zero Tracking software types for Exceed W Scales?

During software update of Exceed W scale using Exceed W PC Program, you may choose what type of software to program to your scale. These software types are: Zero Tracking and No Zero Tracking software.

In Zero Tracking software, small weights that are placed slowly on the scale’s platform (below minimum weight) are considered zero and the value for zero weight is constantly adjusted also. This will cause problems if you are weighing items that are too light and below scale’s minimum weight (example, weighing grains by slowly pouring in the grains onto the scale’s platform). If you use the Exceed W scale to weigh items that are always above the scale’s minimum weight, this will not be a problem and the Zero Tracking software will work fine on the scale.

Contrary to the Zero Tracking software, the No Zero Tracking software can handle weighing of items that are below the scale’s minimum weight. This software type is therefore advisable to users who use Exceed W scale to weigh very light items.

7. I have registered an Exceed W Scale under my account, but now I am reselling it to another person, can he/she still register the same scale under his account?

YES. If you are a scale distributor and have registered several Exceed W Scales for software update, you may delete these scale registration accounts so that your customers or other end-users will be able to register their scales under their account.  Customers who are reselling their scale can also do the same thing. Under the Exceed W Scale Registration menu on this page, you can find the submenu Delete Scale Registration. Go to this page and enter 8-digit serial number of the Exceed W Scale you want to delete its registration.
